Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Moravosilesian Quaternary, area of continental glaciation. The largest erratic boulder in the Osoblaha town region. It consists of coarse grained porphyric granite of a Dalsland type, coming from the South Sweden during Middle Pleistocene, about 800,000 years ago. Potassium feldspar phenocrysts are as large as 2-7 mm. Slight preferred orientation of aggregates of dark minerals. The locality is clasified as a Nature Monument.
